Chaperones

If you would like a chaperone to accompany you and be present during your consultation in order to provide support and reassurance, please advise the receptionist when booking your appointment, on arrival at the surgery or the health care professional you have arranged to see.

We are committed to creating an environment that promotes equality and embraces diversity, both within our workforce and in service delivery and will ensure that patients are offered a chaperone for all intimate examinations. Where a chaperone is unavailable, a patient may be asked to return at a clinically appropriate time.

We accept that patients may also request a friend or relative to accompany them at these times.
