Friends and Family Test

What is the NHS Friends and Family Test?

We want to ensure that you have the best experience of care provided by West Point Medical Centre. The Friends and Family Test is a way of gathering your feedback about your experience of the care you received at West Point Medical Centre and therefore helping us to drive improvements to the services we provide.

You can leave your feedback by completing our online Friends and Family Test.

Whenever you receive care as a patient at West Point Medical Centre, you will have the opportunity to give your feedback by answering one simple question about your experience. You will also have the opportunity to provide additional feedback if you wish to.

Do You Have to Respond to the Question?

You do not have to respond to the question but if you do, your feedback will provide valuable information to help us to ensure that our patients have the best possible experience of care.

How Will the Results be Used?

We will gather the results and analyse them quickly to see if any action is required. We will also publish the results in our patient waiting area and on our practice website.

Does this Replace the Existing Compliments or Complaints Procedure?

No, you can still pass your compliments or complaints to our practice in the normal way and we will continue to use existing ways of gathering feedback, in addition to the Friends and Family Test.

In response to the question:

“How likely are you to recommend our GP Practice to Friends and Family if they needed similar care and attention?”

The following feedback has been received during November 2019 from patients or their family/representatives/cares:

  • Extremely likely – 75%
  • Likely – 13%
  • Neither likely/unlikely – 6%
  • Unlikely – 6%
  • Extremely unlikely – 0%
  • Don’t know – 0%

We welcome all constructive feedback, from the positive to the not-so-positive, in order that we can continually strive to improve the services that we are able to offer patients and their families.

It is our intention to act wherever possible on the feedback received from patients and their families so we will publish, via notices in our patient waiting areas as well as our website, the actions that we have taken in response to patient suggestions.

Thank you for taking time to provide us with your feedback of experience in using our GP surgery and for your continued support.
